Piotr Miturich

Piotr Miturich`s drawings. Dedicated to the artist's 125th birthday anniversary

The Tretyakov Gallery - April 11th 2012 - July 29th 2012

Petr Miturich (1887-1956) was a perfect sketcher, one of the best graphic artists of the XX century.

His art developed among the avant-guarde artists, poets and musicians but did not reject traditional basis of depiction.

In 1920s-1930s he was close with V.Tatlin.

After 1932 when Soviet art approved the trend to social realism, Miturich stood by his ideas falling into the circle of unofficial artists.

The exhibition will present the works from the State Tretyakov Gallery that owns the most complete and high-quality collection of  the artist’s works.

Graphic Motif. 1918-1922.
