Lev Alexandrovich YUDIN
Born 1903, Vitebsk - died 1941, killed on the Leningrad battlefront.

Painter, graphic artist, sculptor and theatre designer.

 Biography

Lev Yudin has studied at the High School of Art in Vitebsk (1919-1922) under K.Malevich.

Was a member of the UNOVIS group from 1920.

Together with Malevich, his teacher, he moved to Petrograd (1922).

Yudin was a member of the INKhUK (the Institute of Artistic Culture), and a  scientific associate of the formal theoretical department (1923-1924).

In the late 1920s the artist has worked as illustrator of children's books and magazines, and has made a series of  sketches for porcelain decoration.

Yudin has taken part in exhibitions of the group in Vitebsk (1920, 1921); the Exhibition Association of New Tendencies in the Art (Petrograd, 1922); Berlin, 1922; the exhibition of paintings of artists all of Tendencies, Petrograd, 1923 and others.

He held a one-man show in Leningrad, 1973.
