Mikhail Mikhailovich Adamovich has graduated from the Stroganov School Art and Industrial Design, Moscow (1907). He was sent to Italy on a scholarship to study decorative art (1907-1909).
Upon returning, Adamovich has worked on decorative painting for the interiors of buildings in Moscow and St.Petersburg (1909-1913). The artist was invited to Greece and commissioned by the Greek government to produce a mosaics for the tomb of King George I.
During the First World War, Adamovich was in the military service (1914-1917).
After the war he has worked in the arts department of the State Porcelain Factory in the building of the old Baron A.Stieglitz School (1018-1919).
In the Civil War of 1919-1920 he has served in the Red Army. Later, he has returned to the State Porcelain Factory (1921-1923). His years in the Red Army have made a deep impression on Adamovich and inspired a series of plates.
The artist has worked at the Volkhov Factory near Novgorod (1924-1927). He was a painter at Dulevo Factory (1927-1933).
Adamovich has then returned to decorative painting of public buildings in Moscow (1934-1947).
He has taken part in several exhibitions including World of Art, The Artists’ Commune and AKhRR (Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia), and also participated in the Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs in Paris at which he was awarded a medal (1925).
