 Biography:

P. Kuznetzov has studied at the School of Saratov Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts  (1891-1896) under Konovalov and Baraki, MUZhVS (Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture) (1897-1904) under Arkhipov, Kassatkin, Pasternak, Serov and Korovin, and in Paris (1905).

From 1899 the artist has participated in exhibitions including World of Art, Blue Rose, SRKh (Union of Russian Artists), MTKh (Moscow Fellowship of Artists).

Was the leader of the Blue Rose group (1907), President of the Four Arts  society (1924-1931), and from 1906 member of Salon d’Automne, Paris.

Kuznetzov has created the Kirghiz series (1910-1913). 

He has taught at MUZhVS and  VKhUTEMAS (High State Art Technical Institute) in 1910-1913, the Stroganov Artistic Industrial Institute in 1917-1918, the MIII (Moscow Institute of Fine Arts) in 1918-1937, and the MVKhPU (Moscow Higher Artistic-Industrial College formerly the Stroganov Institute) in 1945-1948.

The artist was in charge of the painting section of  IZO (Fine Art Section of the peoples Commissariat for Education of the Russian Republic) in 1919-1924.
