Hello to all Russian Avant-garde Gallery visitors and subscribers. This month marked a year since this website has began to be developed again. So here are some updates to make.

New Artists and Movements/Groups

In July three new artists were added, with a total of over 300 new works. The new artists are:

• Vladimir Sterligov (Stand Alone) - 73 works
• Lubov Popova (Jack of Diamonds) - 139 works
• Vladimir Tatlin (Union of Youth) - 106 works

As usual, these artists were truly unique in their contribution to the Russian Avant-garde. So I am sure, whether their names are familiar to you or not, you are going to enjoy looking at their work. I have made tremendous effort (with pleasure, of course) finding, listing and preparing as much of the available material as I could.

Sterligov was added to the category of Stand Alone artists, for his breakthrough discovery of the next "added element" coming after Suprematism, which earns him a place with such giants as Malevich, Kandinsky and Filonov.

For both Popova and Tatlin separate pages will be added at a later time with a few interesting and important works in the Mass and Agit category.

Recommended Books on Avant-garde

I have "opened" the Recommended Books section in the Avant-garde Community category and prepared a page for General Collections on Avantgarde. Naturally, I will add books as I go along.

Also, I have started the section for books on Individual Artists. It is made somewhat like the List of Artists, only the links will point to pages with recommended book on them. Those that I have checked out myself - have my own recommendation. In other cases, when I know of a book from another source, I will cite the recommendation from them.

This pages is also going to be constantly updated, as I add artists with books recommended.

On the original page of the artist in question I shall post a link with the offer to check out relevant books, which will take the viewer to the corresponding "Recommended Books on..." page.

The books come from several different e-stores: Amazon, Ozone, Powell's books, Biblio. Some may be temporarily out of print or out of stock. If that is the case - do leave an order, they will fulfill it if they possibly can.

Reminder: Refresh Your Pages

As always, I would like to remind everybody to occasionally refresh the pages, due to the constant changes and additions on the website. This will ensure that you always see the latest version of the pages, and not the page cached (stored) on your computer from the last visit.
