Biography:
Leonid Pasternak has studied at the Drawing School, Odessa (1979-1981); the workshop of Sorokin, Moscow (1918-1930); the Moscow University (1881-1885); and the Academy of Arts, Munich (1886-1887) under Gerterich and Litzenmeyer.
From 1918 the artist has participated in exhibitions including MOLKh (Moscow Society of Art Lovers), 36, World of Art, SRKh (Union of Russian Artists).
Was a member of TPKhV (Fellowship of Traveling Art Exhibitions - The Wanderers) and SRKh.
From 1925 he has lived in Moscow.
Pasternak has taught at MUZhVZ (Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture) (1894-1917).
Visited Germany, Italy (1904), Berlin (1906), the Netherlands, Belgium, England (1908) and Venice (1912).
From 1921 the artist has lived in Berlin, Munich and Oxford.
He was the father of the famous writer and poet, Boris Pasternak.
