Biography:

Lev Tziperson has graduated from a Jewish elementary school and Kharkov high school and enrolled into the Vitebsk Public Art School in 1919. He has studied first under Marc Chagall, after that at the workshops of Vera Ermolayeva and Kazimir Malevich.

The artist has participated in First State Exhibition Paintings of Local and Moscow Painters (1919, Vitebsk).

He was a member of the UNOVIS group.

Together with V.Ermolayeva, Tziperson has designed set décor and costumes for stage "War and Peace" by V.Mayakovsky, produced in UNOVIS in 1921.

After moving from Vitebsk to Moscow (early 1920s) the artist has deviated from fine arts. In 1927-1928 he studied at the Moscow VKhUTEMAS, faculty of architecture.

From 1928 he has worked as architect. Taken part in architecture competitions, in collaboration with magazine "Construction of Moscow".
