The exhibition's name is after citation from the handwritten almanac "Bedlam" (1927) of a comment made by painter and graphic artist Boris Rybnikov, a member of the Thirteen movement. In 1921 he has firmly decided to study with A.Shevchenko: a year earlier, on January 1st 1920, the former participant of "Izdebsky Salon" and the exhibitions "Osliny Khvost" (The Donkey's Tail) and "Mishen'" (The Target), coauthor of the manifest "Tzvetodinamos  i tektonichesky primitivism" (Color-dynamos and Tectonic Primitivism) Shevchenko has been appointed professor of painting in Moscow VKhUTEMAS.

The exhibition included works from Moscow private collections made during several decades of the 20th century. As one more Shevchenko follower recalled: "all his pupils remained true to art in their spirits".
